We will never use your data for advertising purposes or sell it to third parties.
Your data is stored on secure servers. We use HTTPS/TLS to encrypt all data in transit. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text. Authentication tokens are stored in httpOnly, SameSite cookies that are not accessible via JavaScript. In production, cookies are marked Secure (HTTPS only).
Access to personal data is restricted to essential personnel. We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information or business data to any third party.
Ask Billvy and the Billvy Brief are powered by Anthropic's Claude API. When you actively ask a question or open your Brief, a summary of your invoices, expenses, and clients is sent to Anthropic to generate the answer — this never happens automatically or in the background. Anthropic acts as our data processor for this feature and does not use data sent through its API to train its models. No other AI provider receives your data.
While we take every reasonable precaution, no method of internet transmission is 100% secure. We will notify you promptly of any breach affecting your personal data.
Your data belongs to you. Invoices, expenses, clients, and projects you create in Billvy are your property. We do not claim any rights to your business data and we do not use it for any purpose other than providing the service to you.

Billvy is not directed at individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has created an account, please contact us at hello@getbillvy.com and we will delete the account promptly.

If you are located in the United Kingdom, your data is processed in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Important: Billvy is a software tool, not a licensed accounting firm. The Service does not constitute professional tax, financial, or legal advice. You are responsible for the accuracy of your financial records and for compliance with applicable tax laws.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Billvy offers free and paid subscription plans. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis at the start of each billing period.
Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and access continues until then. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods except where required by law.
Price changes: We will give you at least 30 days' notice of any price changes by email before they take effect.
You retain full ownership of all business data you enter into Billvy — invoices, clients, expenses, projects, and settings. We do not claim any rights to your business data.
By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display your data solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. This licence ends when you delete your data or close your account.
You can export all your data at any time from Settings → Export your data. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle your data.
Billvy and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by the operator of Billvy and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. The Billvy name, logo, and brand are trademarks of Billvy. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service without our explicit written consent.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. Billvy DOES NOT WARRANT THAT:

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, Billvy SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, BUSINESS DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
You agree to indemnify and hold Billvy harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
Either party may end the relationship:
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases. We will delete your account data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. You should export your data before closing your account.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Billvy is operated by SG Digital Ventures LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company (Entity ID: 2026-002034713).
Any disputes not subject to the arbitration clause in Section 13 shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, USA.
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction that cannot be contractually waived.
For EU/UK users: If you are a consumer resident in the EEA or UK, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence under applicable mandatory law.

Before initiating any formal dispute, US users agree to contact us at hello@getbillvy.com and give us 30 days to resolve the issue informally. Most concerns can be resolved this way.
If we cannot resolve a dispute informally within 30 days, any claim or dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service (excluding small claims and intellectual property matters) shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration. The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding.
YOU AND Billvy AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION.
You may opt out of this arbitration agreement within 30 days of first accepting these Terms by emailing hello@getbillvy.com with the subject line "Arbitration Opt-Out". Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email at least 14 days before the new Terms take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
